YAV Magazine will be publishing the final issue of the magazine on July 31, 2016.  The issue will be a collectors' issue featuring some of YAV Magazine's most memorable young African visionaries with a few new YAVs featured. For four years YAV Magazine has been a publication dedicated to celebrating the youth of Africa!

YAV Magazine will continue to celebrate the youth of Africa by starting a new YAV Scholarship Program in 2017.  YAV Magazine back issues will still be available for viewing on this website. In March 2017, YAV Magazine will be launching the YAV Scholarship Program. Also starting in 2017, only one issue of YAV Magazine will be published per year featuring the young Africans who have received  the YAV Scholarships.

The YAV Scholarships will be open to students living in Africa between the ages 15-21 years old. The YAV Scholarships will be accessible by writing an essay, showing proof of academic achievement or talent, and based on economic need.  Scholarships will only be given out once a year to 10 eligible students. Stay tuned for more updates! Or email yavmagazine@gmail.com for information.

I salute you for giving an opportunity to less fortunate individuals who want to pursue their education. Ten scholarships per year would go a long way. I hope those students who finished their education through scholarships they received would be able to give back, too, by helping others in any way they can. Lack of financial support should no way be a hindrance to these deserving students. Right to education should be a fundamental right to every child.
